  1. The U.S and Soviet Union both occupied a half of after the Japanese invaders fled and it divided along the 38th parallel.
  2. The United Nations wanted to organize unification through national elections but the Soviet Union did not allow it in their zone.
  3. The Republic of Korea was made after the elections of 1948 in South Korea to form a democratic government.
  4. The Soviets returned with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in North Korea and both governments wanted to the rule the nation.
  5. Through 1948-1950 both sides did little damage to each other before troops left, but a civil was in the near future.
  6. The U.S. left in 1949 and said that they did not have any domain on Korea and did not want to get involved.
  7. North Korea saw the opportunity and took it, South Korea was filled with farmers and stood little chance.
  8. The U.S. took sides with South Korea while China went with North Korea, in the end a truce was signed at the 38th parallel in 1951.
  9. An emerging containment policy came into act at the UN where the United States could intervene if necessary to contain communism.

Many Civilians that did not even take place in the war would die from the attacks of the Reds.

The UN got very involved in this dispute as you see an officer tell UN soldiers to fire the artillery.

New technology is being used by soldiers in this war, guns that have higher rates of fire and higher magazine capacity. This will lead to a very bloody and intense war.

As you can see from the map, North Korea was almost always trying to attack at the heart of South Korea. Also, the UN and Chinese offensive were constantly going out meeting most times in North Korea.
